Stuart Holmes, Director

Stuart was studying for his GNVQ in Advanced Engineering at Exeter College when he was recruited by an electrician who specialised in refrigeration, for whom Stuart worked for several years. As this area of business began to slow Stuart made the unexpected move across to Sealant Application. This is when Stuart and Danny first met. After 6 years as a mastic man and building his skills and experience in this trade, Stuart took a sabbatical, finding a temporary role project managing sites in London. Once he had returned to the South-West, Stuart decided to utilise his experience and expertise in this relatively niche trade and form his own Sealant Application firm, requesting Danny’s help whenever his own work allowed, until eventually this sole trader business grew into a partnership.

Danny Scott, Director

Danny has had diverse previous career experience equipping him with valuable all-round skills. Initially training as a motor mechanic, Danny worked in this industry for some years. He was then recruited by a local business dealing with water testing and safety. Visiting various sites sparked his interest in construction.

Whilst sub-contracting for a sealant application firm, Danny first worked alongside Stuart, but later left to train and specialise in construction, carpentry and planned maintenance. Undertaking such work as marina repair, playground construction and maintenance projects, his path once again crossed with Stuart’s, after which they worked together more and more frequently and until the partnership was formed.

Successfully battling through a recession and winning the trust and respect of contractors has enabled Devon and Cornwall Sealants to grow into the respected company, with a reputation for excellence, that it is today.
